HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

and by that I mean Christmas/Yuletide & New Years ... it's been a few weeks, let me tell you!

Well - for Christmas - which we celebrate on Christmas Eve - my oldest son and his new bride, they've been married for less than 2 years so technically they are still Newlyweds ... they gave me a package of self-adhesive canning labels ... which is great, I've been looking for a nice set of ones to go on the lid for YEARS now - all I can find are ones to go on the jar itself, and I'm not committing a jar to a single contents ...

Anyhow - they got me a PACK of these labels ... wow, they couldn't have been cheap ... but then he gave me a heavy package - and I knew what they were!!

He gave me the package, and his dad got an instant APOLOGY ... lol .... they go me quart jars!!!  A whole 12 pack of quart jars ....

HAPPY DANCE

He knows how much I love getting jars, and papa won't do it anymore ... but then, I've got plenty of jars now that the household is down to just 3 ...

Just got to get them up here .... hmmmm.

I also got several other items, but this is the one which fits on THIS BLOG ... so that's why I mention it.

The day AFTER Christmas - papa totally surprised me and actually went SHOPPING on his own ... he needed a couple things, he said ...

He bought me a NEW ROASTER OVEN!!!!!

It's an "off" brand ... he got it from Walmart - they had to pull it from the backroom, so hopefully it wasn't meant for someone else.

If it was meant for you, I'm sorry - it was the workers fault, not ours.

Anyhow -- it's either a 20 or 22 quart .... he unboxed it for me ... but it seems more like an 18 quart to me.

Out New Years tradition has always been to cook our own TURKEY in it ...

Even though we generally make a bird for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, by the time everybody grabs their left-overs, we are just left (pretty much) with bones ... lol

So we look forward to the New Years bird!!

But this will go to the next post ...
